Description

The history of sfogliatella originates in the Amalfi coast, between Furore and Conca dei Marini, more precisely in the monastery of Santa Rosa. It was in this holy place that a cloistered nun, in the seventeenth century, who knows if by mistake or will created the first example. a bit of dried fruit, sugar and lemon liqueur was all that was needed for this first, rudimentary version of the dessert that has now become the emblem of the world’s Neapolitan style.

Only many years later, when by now this delight had reached the gates of Naples, was born the distinction between curly sfogliatella and pastry, depending on the type of pasta with which it was made.
