The history of Caffee maker

The secret to preparing a good coffee? In reality there is not only one, but there is the combination of at least three fundamental elements such as water, the quality of coffee and especially the choice of the right machine with which to prepare it, not to mention that once assembled all this, the coffee must cook over a slow flame. In short, as you can well guess, make a good coffee, it is not so simple, indeed it can be conceived as a true culinary art with its complexities.

As we said one of the basic elements for making coffee is the coffee maker.

The coffee pots are not all the same and over time have changed in many ways and this to better meet the needs of drinkers of this drink. But what is their story? Let’s find out together in this article where you will find some really interesting trivia.

Background……

The first ever coffee maker is originally from Africa precisely in Ethiopia and was called the jabena, which included a pot of earthenware formed by a narrow neck with a chimney and a small spout in which coffee was poured.

If in Africa the jabena was used, in Europe instead in the period between the XIV and the XVIII was used as a technique to prepare coffee, the boiling of the funds. Obviously the difficulty of separating the funds from the drink meant that many worked to build special machinery to prepare this drink with less difficulty.

Only in 1800, however, was invented what we could call one of Moka’s ancestors, namely the vacuum, a machine made up of two containers, one of which was lower, which had the task of containing water and an upper part which contained coffee powder. .

This model was followed by the filter coffee maker, the reversible coffee maker, which is very well known, especially because it is often present in the theatrical works of Eduardo De Filippo, up to the modern Moka, the Bialetti.

What we all know and that we all have at home is the result of the genius of the Italian Alfonso Bialetti, hence its name, which in 1933, designed and built the coffee pot par excellence that has changed the way to prepare this drink at home.

Curiosity

A curiosity about all about Bialetti? It has been produced in over 105 million specimens, and is present in the permanent collection of MOMA in New York, because it has always been known that coffee is a work of art.
